Announcements
Colorado River BOCES has had a recent phishing incident involving a spoofed email that falsely appeared to come from one of our staff members (Jennifer Rhoades, jrhoades@crboces.org). This message included a link claiming to direct users to a DocuSign document for a Request for Proposal (RFP). Below is an image of the email. Apparently, this phishing attempt has been experienced by multiple organizations.
What You Need to Know:
The email was not authorized or sent by our organization, despite appearing legitimate.
The link in the message redirected to a non-DocuSign domain (scribehow.com) and is considered malicious.
While the message passed some authentication checks, further investigation shows signs of account compromise or domain spoofing.
If You Clicked the Link:
Do not enter any information.
Run a malware/antivirus scan on your device.
Change your passwords if you entered credentials.
Report suspicious activity to your IT or security team immediately.
What We’re Doing:
We’ve notified our internal IT department and Google Workspace administrators.
Steps are underway to secure the affected account and monitor for related activity.
We are reporting the phishing content to relevant security authorities.
What You Can Do:
Be cautious with unexpected emails that request document signing or confidential information.
Hover over links before clicking to verify they go to trusted domains (e.g., docusign.com).
If in doubt, contact the sender through a trusted method—never reply to suspicious emails directly.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or concern this incident may have caused. Your security and trust are our top priority. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like assistance verifying the authenticity of future messages.
Colorado River BOCES Announces its Yampah Mountain High School Principal Selection
Colorado River BOCES is pleased to announce that a contract for the Yampah Mountain High School Principal position has been offered to Dr. Subhas Mathew. Dr. Mathew will be joining us beginning the 2025/2026 academic school year.
Dr. Mathew brings over 2 decades of educational experience. He began his educational career as a teacher’s aide. Later he began teaching science, grades 4-8, high school accounting, baking and coaching cross-country at several schools in Dallas. Since 2013, he has been in school administration as an assistant principal, principal and superintendent. During his administrative journey, he was also the founding principal of two campuses in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Dr. Mathew earned his bachelor's degree in accounting, a couple of master’s degrees in public administration and personnel management from India and a doctorate (Ph.D.) from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX.
Dr. Mathew firmly believes that all students can learn and succeed, regardless of their background and circumstances: economic, social, cultural or academic, and that each child brings in a unique set of talents and skills that enhances the learning environment. He believes in our collective responsibility as educators to provide a nurturing, safe, secure and stimulating environment that builds and unlocks each child's potential while igniting creativity and passion for learning to prepare them for their tailored future.
With Dr. Mathew’s knowledge and experience, we believe he will make an excellent addition to the Yampah Mountain High School’s staff and students.
