Alternative Licensure Program Overview
Program Model
This program leverages personalized, project-based, and competency-based learning models to support candidates in the engaged application of knowledge and skills acquired to be a successful teacher or principal.
License Areas
Candidates can obtain a Principal License or Colorado Teacher license in one of the following areas. In addition, we offer an added endorsement for existing teachers in special education.

Comprehensive Health (K-12)
Instructional Tech (This is Sunsetting and will be replaced with Computer Science) (K-12)

Special Education Generalist (Ages: 5-21) - Full licensure
Special Education Generalist (Ages: 5-21) - Added endorsement

Admission Requirements
Alternative licensure candidates must have a passing score on the appropriate content exam, have secured a full-time position in the area in which they seek a license, have the recommendation of a principal or other supervisor, and have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
