Praxis At Home
CDE in working with ETS has begun to offer the Praxis test through the use of your own computer in your home. This service, in response to the COVID 19 pandemic, will allow most individuals to complete their testing requirements for licensure.
COVID - 19 with Praxis
CDE has worked with ETS to allow Praxis to be administered via Praxis at Home. If your assessment is not available via Praxis at home (eg, Music, Spanish, etc), the deadline for passing the Praxis will be November 30, 2022. If your exam is available, you should register to take the assessment. Candidates should apply for their license through CDE and check the appropriate box on their licensing application.
3. Have you been unable to fulfill any of the following licensing requirements on or after March 1, 2020, due to COVID-19?
If you are out-of-state initial applicant, please select Not Applicable.
Attend a scheduled exam to move an interim authorization to an initial license.
Attend a scheduled exam to qualify for an initial license, alternative license or authorization.
Complete an induction program to move an initial license to a professional license.
Complete required hours of professional development to renew an authorization OR professional license.
Complete the required coursework to move a CTE authorization from a 3-year to a 5-year. Not Applicable
This will allow you to schedule the Praxis test accordingly. Keep in mind that you will be required to pass it by November 30, 2022. We strongly urge candidates to use the Praxis at Home option available now to meet this requirement as soon as possible!
