Job Title: Principal – Yampah Mountain High School
Job Summary:
The Principal of Yampah Mountain High School serves as the instructional and operational leader responsible for overseeing strategic planning, program development, and day-to-day operations. The principal ensures high-quality educational experiences for students through innovative programming, strong leadership, and collaborative decision-making.
A key responsibility of this role is to secure and manage grants that fund critical school operations and programs. The principal oversees grant writing efforts, ensures compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, and aligns funding with school priorities. Additionally, the principal plays a vital role in implementing and sustaining the schools Restorative Justice model, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
Lead and manage school-wide strategic planning efforts to align programs with student and community needs.
Work collaboratively with deans, staff, and stakeholders to establish and achieve school improvement goals.
Support program development and ensure alignment with BOCES and district initiatives.
Grant Writing, Management, and Reporting:
Identify and secure grants to support Yampah Mountain High School’s academic, social-emotional, and workforce development programs.
Oversee the full grant lifecycle, from proposal development to budget management and compliance monitoring.
Ensure accurate grant reporting to meet the requirements of local, state, and federal agencies.
Work closely with BOCES finance personnel to track grant expenditures and ensure funds are used appropriately.
Maintain detailed records and ensure all reporting deadlines are met for continued funding eligibility.
Align grant-funded initiatives with student needs, ensuring that funding supports targeted programs such as career and technical education, alternative learning models, and student support services.
Operations and Logistics:
Oversee transportation logistics, including staffing and funding supervision.
Collaborate with the fleet manager regarding vehicle maintenance and route planning.
Ensure compliance with all operational procedures, working closely with the fleet manager and support staff.
Restorative Justice and School Culture:
Lead the implementation and sustainability of the Restorative Justice model to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Train and support staff in using Restorative Justice practices to address conflicts, promote accountability, and strengthen relationships.
Regularly assess the effectiveness of restorative practices and make recommendations for improvements.
Staff and Student Support:
Supervise and support deans, teachers, and program staff in addressing student needs, behavior, and overall program effectiveness.
Provide ongoing professional development to staff, ensuring they are equipped with skills to support students academically and emotionally.
Foster a school culture that emphasizes student engagement, equity, and positive behavioral supports.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage with parents, community organizations, and local businesses to strengthen partnerships that benefit students.
Represent Yampah Mountain High School at community meetings, events, and educational forums.
Work with local agencies and organizations to create additional funding opportunities for student programs.
Program Development and Oversight:

Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Education Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Licensure: Valid Colorado Principal’s License.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in education, preferably in alternative education settings.
Proven experience in grant writing, budgeting, and reporting.
Strong background in Restorative Justice implementation and student support services.
Skills:

The WBL Job Coach will work directly with EPIC WBL TEAM- supporting strong CTE student and staff culture, providing administrative support for all WBL programmatic and curricular decisions regarding CTE programs, and serving as a resource/support for students, staff and community.
Preference is given to candidates who have CTE Work Based Learning (WBL) experiences in program development, implementation, student, staff, and community advocacy focused on local WBL opportunities grades 7-12.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provides job coaching support within the EPIC Team addressing WBL development, implementation, coordination and resources for students, staff and community.
• Develops and maintains WBL forms, databases, and protocol for the EPIC Team WBL pathways.
• Maintains student, staff and industry partners EPIC WBL documentation and other needed documents as required.

Time expectations:
This role is a full-time (est. 40 hours/week) school-based construction instructor role. Time will be spent mostly on school campuses working with students, teachers, industry partners, CRBOCES staff, and school staff. Some time might be used to manage logistics of this work, getting supplies, materials, and curriculum development.
Description:
The EPIC Construction Instructor-Coach will be responsible for providing safe instructional learning environments for students mostly outside of the classroom and on the school grounds. This position will support current construction instructors, students and their projects while simultaneously preparing to lead additional EPIC Construction Pathways featuring tiny homes this fall.
Collaboration between the school's staff, EPIC staff, and Industry Partners is required to provide consistent and clear communication of expectations for student outcomes. Students will learn construction skills while engaging in building projects (Examples: tiny homes and sheds). Industry partners will participate in some of the instructional opportunities to provide students with current practices in the sub contractor fields. Some of these partnerships will lead to work based learning opportunities for students.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and instruction in the development, implementation and coordination of the EPIC Construction Pathways Programs.
Supports construction instructors and students with tiny home building projects.
Works within the budget to provide construction pathways.
Communicates with the CRBOCES CTE Director and Pathways Coordinator on a regular basis.
Maintains a valid Colorado driver's license and ability to drive work trucks with trailers.
Can lift up to 50lbs.
Can safely operate power tools such as chop saws, table saws, drills, etc…
